My name is Madie Sturgess and I’m an accidental clean tech specialist based in Meanjin/Brisbane.
I am perpetually curious and passionate about fit for purpose solutions for sustainable development, the democratisation of energy, and the transition to circular economies – none of which is possible without collaborating with the communities they serve.
With experience across tech start-ups, agriculture, film and TV, and international development sectors my cleantech journey began developing microgrid projects and clean energy cooking alternatives with remote Haitian communities by way of Washington DC at EarthSpark International.
I currently work with remote First Nations communities as Clean Energy Projects Lead at Original Power where we co-design and develop community energy solutions. Our work takes learnings from the field and advocates for enabling regulatory reform and transformative collaboration with the wider energy market via the First Nations Clean Energy Network.
